Ups and downs for John Minturn on the road to Superweek
After a stellar ride at the Troy Classic on Saturday night, John Minturn was crashed out of Martinsburg after being hooked in an intermediate sprint. Minturn nearly single handedly widdled down Saturday’s Troy race incessantly attacking the late 7-man break bringing the race down to three men. Unfortunatley the two remaining riders were both teammates and able to attack John for the win. His 3rd place ride was a really great show of force leading up to a planned 8-day of racing between Superweek and the Chicago Criterium.
Sunday’s race in Matinsburg saw a lot of crashes including a late race pile-up leading in to the final sprint. It appeared Kenda had a mishap in the leadout which caused a chain reaction. Empire’s Stehpan Kincaid held out for 7th being the first guy to be caught behind the havoc. Minturn’s crash mid-race left Kincaid isolated and working hard for hiimself.
Next up is Superweek.
