Out with a BANG!
Empire finished up the road season this past weekend with several big results! Karl Rahn finished off his season with bookend wins taking the final round of the CRCA racing. Kevin Molloy made like gravy taking second in the same race after a strong lead out by Alex Bremer.
In Boston, Clayton Barrows, Jake Hollenbach, and Mike Margarite represented Empire/Northwave at the inaugural Mayor’s Cup, a $20,000 criterium that the boys tore up. Margarite went in some early moves until Barrows countered and formed the winning breakaway with Teddy King (Cervelo Test Team), Shawn Milne (Team Type 1) and Kyle Wamsley ( Colavita/Sutter Home). Clayton would end up finishing third behind Wamsley and Milne but not after taking most of the intermediate sprints and the cash prizes that went along with each sprint.
Lastly on the dirt in Pennsylvania, Stephan Kincaid kicked off his cyclocross season with a 2nd place at the PA series opener. “It’s been another great season for the Empire team” said DS Mike Sherry after the final weekend of racing. “We were definitely more visible than ever this year, picked up some more big result, and held our own in the NRC standings. We’re going to go in to the winter and look to be signing some really great riders for next season. Special thanks to all of our sponsors for making all of this possible for us; Empire Hotel Group, Northwave, Rudy Project, Sportique, Cervélo, Elite, Kid Fuel and Performance Labs HC.”
